Cristal d'Arques Masquerade Wine Glasses
This set of six Cristal d'Arques stemware glasses in the Masquerade pattern features cut geometric designs, including crisscross diamond facets and vertical fan flourishes across each bowl. Every glass rises from a circular foot along a multi-sided faceted stem and retains its original manufacturer label on the exterior.
Background Note
Established in 1968 by the French glass manufacturer Arc International, the Cristal d'Arques brand became famous for developing industrial automation techniques that made genuine 24% lead crystal affordable for everyday households. Prior to this manufacturing breakthrough, fine lead crystal required labor-intensive mouth-blowing and manual stone-wheel cutting, reserving the material almost exclusively for luxury markets. The Masquerade pattern reflects this classic late-twentieth-century design tradition, utilizing deeply pressed European motifs engineered to refract ambient light across dinner tables.
