Vintage Mirrored Chifforobe Wardrobe
Vintage wooden chifforobe featuring an asymmetrical two-door configuration set on slender turned legs with metal casters. The right side features a tall arched mirrored door that opens to a full-height wardrobe compartment fitted with an upper hanging bar, while the left side features an upper arched mirrored cabinet door above a vertical stack of five drawers. Hardware consists of faceted glass knobs on the upper doors and top drawers, paired with decorative metal bail pulls on the lower three drawers.
Background Note
Popularized in the United States during the early 20th century, the chifforobe was created as a hybrid between a wardrobe and a chiffonier chest of drawers. The form provided combined hanging and drawer storage in a single piece of furniture, serving as an all-in-one bedroom dressing solution before built-in closets became standard in residential architecture.
