Restored Mobilgas Special Gas Pump
This restored vintage gas pump features a classic red and white finish with Mobilgas Special branding and the iconic red Pegasus graphic. It is equipped with an illuminated round top globe, an illuminated central pricing compute meter display, and an illuminated lower sign panel. A side-mounted black hose and nozzle complete the exterior, while the internal mechanical pump equipment has been removed to allow for display use and accent lighting.
Background Note
The Mobilgas Pegasus logo was adopted by the Socony-Vacuum Oil Company in the 1930s and became one of the most recognizable icons in American automotive history. Mechanical compute pumps from the mid-20th century utilized synchronized gearing to calculate both total volume and purchase price at the island. Today, restored mid-century service station pumps are prized by automobilia collectors and vintage decor enthusiasts.
