Spring Teacup Gnome Decor
This charming decorative gnome features a white Federalist Ironstone teacup as its cap, adorned with delicate blue and green fabric rosettes and sparkling accents. A fluffy, light-colored beard and a small wooden nose complete its whimsical face. The gnome sits atop a matching saucer, making it an ideal accent for spring or garden-themed decor.
Background Note
The teacup and saucer bear the "Federalist Ironstone" mark and were "Made in Japan." Ironstone is a type of durable, opaque pottery developed in the early 19th century as an alternative to porcelain. Though initially produced primarily in England, its manufacture expanded globally, with Japanese factories creating pieces for international markets in the mid to late 20th century. This particular mark indicates a widely distributed and resilient dinnerware line.
