Cypress Wood Wall Mirror
This large rectangular wall mirror features a handcrafted cypress wood frame with oversized scrollwork corner cutouts and a subtle gray wash finish. Designed for horizontal wall mounting, the wide timber border showcases expressive natural wood graining surrounding a clear central mirror glass panel. Its distinctive contoured silhouette brings architectural texture and rustic warmth to living spaces, entryways, or bedrooms.
Background Note
Cypress wood has a long history in American furniture making and regional woodworking, particularly in the Southeastern United States where bald cypress grows natively. Renowned for its natural resistance to decay and moisture due to an inherent resin called cypressene, cypress was historically favored for both exterior architectural millwork and durable indoor cabinetry. In modern furniture design, cypress is valued for its rich grain patterns and light tone, which take well to soft washed stains while retaining an organic, textured character.
